its uses in a fire alarm and the household appliances that use the bimetallic strip.U may wonder what a bimetallic strip is.Well,a bimetallic strip is simply two strips of different metal stuck together.How does it work?It works by heating it and the metal that expands more will also bend more,hence being the outer strip of metal.How does it help in a fire alarm system?When the heat emitted by the fire heats up the bimetallic strip,the bimetallic strip will bend downwards,hence causing a close circuit so that electricity can flow through the closed circuit and can ring the bell to alert the people.You have not realise but bimetallic strip are all around us.Irons and refrigerators all use the bimetallic strip.
